I haven’t met many other people who were born in Los Angeles. There’s just something about this city that draws in so many transplants. I think it’s the movie stars…. and the weather. Well, I was born here, right in Tarzana, CA. I’m an original valley girl, like totally. However, I’m also in love with the ocean, so I get over to the West Side and Santa Monica as much as I can.
My love of homes started when I was very young. I would spend hours on end drawing intricate floor plans of huge homes for my dolls, complete with sunken living rooms, full color landscaping, and interior design. This was my way of escaping the fact that I didn’t have a home of my own. My single mother struggled and many times, we were homeless. My passion and drive stems from that experience. I strive to find homes for families to be happy in, homes that they can actually afford, and I focus on that, not just the commission.
To develop my design skills, I put myself through college and earned a Bachelors of Science in Film and Television from Columbia College and got a position working on sets for commercials. I also started studying Interior Design post-graduate at UCLA. Sadly, after I was well on my way toward becoming a Set Designer, I realized the waste of energy and resources that runs rampant in the film industry just didn’t jive with my tree-hugging, eco-hippy morals so I changed direction.
That’s when I entered the Hospitality industry as a Concierge Manager, getting clients “anything you want, as long as it’s legal.” I soon found myself working in the lobbies of beautiful designed, LEED certified, luxury condominium complexes throughout Los Angeles, from Playa Vista to Downtown to Pasadena. I was managing the Concierge services for these buildings and providing day to day services to hundreds of homeowners! This was no easy feat, but happily, it gave me all the skills needed to service my current clients, whether they are homeowners now or hope to be one day. Imagine working with a Realtor who treats you like a 5 star hotel concierge! That’s what I have to offer.
